Thai Partner Yoga Therapy
Practitioner Summer Certification
June-August 2011
Deepen Your Practice...Inspire Your Life
Learning this ancient art creates a strength of Body, Mind and Spirit that transforms your yoga in profound and exciting ways.
This training is excellent for deepening your understanding of YOGA as a therapy, regardless of whether or not you choose to become a C.T.P.Y.P (Certified Thai Partner Yoga Practitioner).
Whether you want to practice on friends and family or build a
career, the Bodhi Yoga™ Thai Partner Yoga Therapy (TPYT) Practitioner
Certification guides you through the fundamentals, intermediate and
advanced practices of "Nuad Bo Rarn" (traditional Thai Partner Yoga
Therapy).
Nuad Bo-Rarn (Thai Partner Yoga Therapy, TPYT) is an ancient form of
therapeutic partner yoga first practiced over 2500 years ago in what
was then Siam by the famous Ayurvedic doctor/yogi Shivago Komarpaj, who was
the personal physician of the Buddha.
Originally TPYT was used to help prepare Buddhist monks and nuns for
their daily meditation. It grew from there into a part of a
traditional Thai medical treatment, which also included herbal
medicine, nutritional and food cures, and spiritual practice, within
the umbrella of Yoga.

Benefits of Participating
What becoming Bodhi Yoga™ TPYT Certified will do for You as a giver
The adept understanding of the practice of Thai Partner Yoga Therapy
(TPYT) gives you, as a giver, a profound way to transform your life
into the realms of the “Everyday Sacred”. Becoming a Bodhi Yoga™ TPYT
Practitioner strengthens every area of your life.
You become stronger in your Yoga, in your ability to balance the
pressures of modern life, and in bringing a unique form of
Physio-Spirituality to every facet of your consciousness. Bodhi Yoga™
Certification also gives you a unique way to support yourself in a way
that is congruent with “right-livelihood” (making a living by providing a service that
supports the cultural shift into higher consciousness).
What TPYT will do for the Receiver
Thai Partner Yoga Therapy is an effective system of body/mind integration, movement and energy balancing, which offers profound benefits to the practitioner/giver as well as the client/receiver. When performed correctly, each session contributes greatly to both practitioner and receiver’s own level of strength, flexibility and emotional well-being.
TPYT works on the "pranic", or subtle, energy body through a
series of slow rhythmic palming, gentle rocking movements, and gentle
stretches rooted in yoga asanas. It is founded on the theory of “Sen
lines”, the Thai interpretation of the Nadis in the Indian system of
Ayurveda. By opening up these bio/energetic pathways, TPYT stimulates
free movement of prana, or vital life force, circulation, lymphatic
flow, etc. creating a sense of profound physical & spiritual
well-being.

FAQs
Who is eligible to participate?
Anyone can participate in these trainings.
Do I have to know yoga to enroll?
No, but you will get much more out of your training if you have at least 3-6 months of yoga practice experience.
Do I have to have strong physique in order to give TPYT?
TPYT will give you strength, you didn’t know you had and take you places in your yoga practice that you never imagined you could go. I wondered
about giving TPYT myself when I first began, due to arthritis, and I
found that it has not only strengthened me in yoga postures I couldn’t
do before, it has also been extremely therapeutic for the condition I
work with.
If I am already a Yoga Student or Instructor how will understanding TPYT help me?
TPYT will take your yoga to a much deeper level. Understanding and
feeling the effects of TPYT on the body, particularly the marma point
therapy, will help you get into yoga postures you may have had trouble
with before, as well as make your yoga practice much safer from
injury. It will also help you in all of your meditative practices.
For Instructors, it will completely change what you can “see” in
your student’s yoga, and open you up to a whole new venue of they ways you can
help them as a "Yoga Therapist".
If I have already completed a Thai Massage Certification, how will understanding TPYT help me?
Many Bodhi Yoga™ TPYT enrollees have already completed a Thai Massage workshop/certification. This TPYT Training is unique, as it focuses on the "Partner Yoga" aspect and more in-depth study, and practice of Sen-Line, Marma Point and Auyrvedic Therapy, as it relates to Thai.
Each participant has commented that it opens up a whole new world of understanding for them, where many of the mystries of Thai begin to make sense.
If I am already a Licensed Massage Therapist how will becoming certified in TPYT benefit me?
Most importantly, understanding TPYT techniques taught during this
training will keep you feeling more healthy and strong. When you know how
TPYT can benefit you, and apply what you learn, you will have resources
that will save your back, shoulders, knees, neck, etc, so you will be
able to do any form of body-work with less strain on you mentally and
physically.
For your clients, you will have a whole new repertoire from which
you can draw from and learn bodywork techniques that will transfer over
into every facet of your work. You will develop skills that will set you apart from traditional massage therapists, and your clients will LOVE it too!
How long do I have to complete my Bodhi Yoga™ 200-hour Level Certification?
You will have one year from the last training to complete all requirements for your Bodhi Yoga™ Certification award. You may
extend in order to keep your Bodhi Yoga™ Cert. tract status active by paying a
$500. extension fee.
When can I begin counting yoga practice hours?
You can begin your personal practice hours as soon as you enroll
the first training, and you will have 1 year from last training to
complete all required yoga practice.
If I am also doing the Bodhi Yoga™ 200-hour Yoga Instructor Certification to I have to repeat the yoga practicum hours?
If you are enrolled in the TPYT Certification track and also doing
(or have done) the 200-Hour Bodhi Yoga™ Instructor Cert. your practicum hours
of personal yoga practice cross over, so no, you do not need to
repeat. If you have or are planning Yoga certification elsewhere, due
to the inconsistency of one cert. program in comparisson to another, these hours will
not transfer over.
What if I enroll and can't attend, is my tuition refundable?
Due to the demand for this workshop, all tuition is non-refundable, but is transferable. In the event you are unable to attend once you have paid your tuition, you may apply your tuition to other workshops, trainings, or the following summer's TPYT Certification Program.
What does a typical TPYT make?
Full-Time TPYT would be giving 3-4 two-hour sessions daily, five
days a week. A traditional TPYT Session ranges between $90-$250
per-session depending on where you live.
In this area, you could expect to be able to charge $90-$120
per-session at 5-10 sessions weekly, which would translate into a gross
monthly (before taxes) income of between $1,800.-$4,800. monthly,
depending on your desire to practice and the size of your clientele.
How long does it typically take to build a clientele?
If you are already a Bodhi Yoga™ instructor, building a clientele takes
care of itself, as your own yoga classes grow. Traditional yoga is an
excellent way to introduce people to TPYT who may not otherwise seek it out.
Building your clientele can be as quick or slow as your own level of
dedication. From scratch you can expect a clientele of 8-sessions
weekly to take anywhere from 6-months to 6-years, depending on how
dedicated you are in making your gift known to others.
Can I give TPYT once I complete all certification Requirements?
You can practice Thai on friends and family. You can use the TPYT Techniques to distinguish you from a regular yoga instructor, by deepening your understanding of yoga on an entirely unique and advanced level.
In order to practice TPYT professionally, the State of Utah requires
that you be "licensed to touch", with either your LMT or nursing
license. Bodhi Yoga™ enrollees who want to do TPYT proffessionally can participate in an LMT program with Jackie Radmall, LMT.
Jackie has over 25 years experience in Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy. She has worked extensively with Syl in learning Thai Sen techniques that blend incredibly well with traditional Lymphatic Massage. (Her program cost is approx. 7K), and will be available once you have completed your Four Summer TPYT Weekends, begining summer 2010.
Do I have to know if I am going to participate in the 500-Hour Bodhi Yoga™ Certification up front?
No, you can return to complete additional Bodhi Yoga™ certifications at any time...Complete all four!
